An Indian dog “Brownie” is missing from Chennai since Jan 1, 2014. Brownie ran away from its residence fearing the new year fireworks. The owner has informed Missing Dog Helpline that they kept Brownie inside the porch because they knew that there would be crackers going off at 12:00. They closed the porch gate using a chain lock. When they heard the crackers go off (this time, they were a LOT louder and closer than previous occasions such as Diwali, Karthikai etc) they immediately ran out to check on Brownie but they were shocked to see him missing.
He had squeezed through the chained gate and squeezed through a square hole in the big compound wall and fled terrified. They searched the street and called for him, but Brownie wasn’t there. It’s been a little more than 10 days since Brownie went missing and the owner feels more and more devastated as days go by.
