Spike- an English Bulldog went missing from J.P. Nagar Area Bangalore on Sep 28, 2013. SPIKE is re-united with family after 2 months !
Alok, owner of Spike has shared his experience with Missing Dog Helpline in his own words:
“Sixty tense, tiring, hurtful days later, a stranger calls us out of nowhere and volunteers information about the whereabouts of SPIKE. A few questions later, he guaranteed us that he has SPIKE. Having spotted our lost dog poster in one of the pet stores in the city, he decided to call us since SPIKE was refusing to eat. He apparently purchased SPIKE from a group of kids, not knowing that it was a stolen dog. He has offered to help us get information regarding SPIKE’s previous whereabouts (late Sep – late Oct), if he does come across any of the kids again. SPIKE is healthy and back to being his mischievous self while still claiming multiple doggy treats by charming his fans once more.
Over the course of these two months, we have discovered a new side to Bangalore, exploring the city’s nooks and corners in search of SPIKE. The constant love and affection we received from the dog lovers’ community, gave us the strength and motivation to be on an active lookout, even after weeks of tiring futile searches.
The past few months have taught us a few important lessons in life. Firstly, the need to think positive, persevere and never to lose hope; in order to achieve one’s goal, which in our case was to find SPIKE.
Although we had to play the waiting game for 2 entire months, the silver lining was that we crossed paths with some of the most dedicated and selfless people, who volunteered their time to help spread the word about SPIKE. Not once did they let us give up in our search. Be it the online dog lovers’ community, websites such as www.hachi.dog, helpful veterinarians, pet shop owners or Ram, Ajit and Rudresh; three dog lovers who require special mention for spending relentless weeks of their precious time, in order to help reunite us with SPIKE. All of their efforts have given us hope and confidence that good people with selfless motives are not hard to find in Namma Bengaluru.
We would like to once again thank all our well-wishers and include a quote by Josh Billings –
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”
Thank You,
